White and classy style is always welcomed for any wedding occasion. Without any other colors to play around on the design, still, we can make use of different tones of WHITE to make the design look great and give the receiver a WOW!

These two designs of wedding certificate folder were done upon the request from our previous client (after having finished the tailor-made for her wedding earlier) as the tailor-made for her friends this time. The requirements were laid down to be simple, classy and in white color, and one said with lace please. 

We are thankful for her trust and appreciation that have given us a great freedom to do the design. Of course, we love white too! And ideas flow in..and we are happy with what we have done for them.

Invited to the Tigerair - Welcome On-Board 全新虎航 press conference, our job is to organize craft workshops on photo frame decorations for the coming media and star bloggers. 

The workshops were taken place at No Signboard seafood restaurant, Causeway Bay. If you are familiarized with Singapore as I do, you probably have tasted their seafood cuisine in Singapore too. I think this is a nice place for doing workshop too! =))

Unlike our past workshops, we do need to come up with our own good design for the photo frame itself first. So no scrapbook papers but using our designed layout, getting that printed on paper and finally making it into a photo frame. 

The photo frame is now much fitted for the new image of Tigerair. After that, we made use of Tigerair's different travel destination icons to turn them into stickers...and of course, with imagination and creativity, we turned those stickers into dimensional blossoms and banners for the frame! The response was overwhelming and many of them had picked the icons they like to create interesting decorations for the photo frame!

When we look back, we always find that time really flies especially when you enjoy every single moment. Of course, life has ups and downs and there were hard times too.

So, it is just too wonderful for a couple to celebrate their Silver Wedding Anniversary! This photo folder was asked to tailor-make by a friend of this couple and this is indeed her second time to find us for such an important gift-making. Really feel grateful for her trust and appreciation.    

The size of this photo folder is about half of a A4 size which is good enough for putting max two 4R size photos inside. Though this size would limit the space for more decorations around the photo, I would prefer to keep the photo folder simple elegant and to look as a handy decoration for home.

The only bold decor is the big ribbon bow on the folder cover which is quite silvery in a sense to give a symbolic echo to their Silver Wedding. It comes out quite matching with the light purple background. haha... 

Inside, we have bible quotes given, a little yellow bouquet and a few decoration elements pointing to a magic number '25' ... this is the essence of all this design is about. I hope the couple would love this photo folder!

Make your own color palette with the basic Pantone Formula Guide

it's fun. it's practical. it isn't expensive.

Even if you do not work as a designer, you must have heard about Pantone! It is well known as the standard language for color communication between the ones who design and the ones who manufacture your design.

Start up designers or leisure crafters may consider only the basic Pantone Formula Guide, which is just a booklet of colors. While an upgraded version is the SOLID CHIPS one that not only you get the same booklet, you also have a whole bunch of the solid chip colors to mix and match on your work desk! I quite like the idea but the SOLID CHIPS version is much more expensive. So, you may hesitate.

If you like to do some crafting apart from your graphic designs [ that's me =) ], perhaps you'd love my below ideas that transform your basic Pantone Formula Guide into a workable color palette for yourself!  

But you have to tear off the screw from the booklet to make them loose pages first. Feel SAD?! Don't worry, you can bind it back with a screw post anytime after. It's fun! It's practical! It isn't expensive!      

 

Step 1  

Select your desirable Pantone Formula Guide colors  

Step 2 

[Left] Draw Pantone Formula Guide's arrangement on paper.

[Right] Use the paper prepared as your stencil. Place it over a black cardboard sheet and cut along the lines to make slot openings on the black cardboard sheet below. 

Step 3 

[Left] Fix your chosen Pantone Formula Guide on the black cardboard sheet through the slot openings at two ends. Prepare some window movables out from your scrap of the black cardboard sheets.

[Right] Insert window movable(s) through the slot openings above and below each Pantone Formula Guide. Slide the window movable(s) along the Pantone Formula Guide for your chosen color(s).

Make your own color palettes.

Step 5 

Begin your design work with your lovely color palettes!
