We always think of something new and interesting for you! So no worry if you have no clue to what gifts should be prepared for your loved ones in Christmas this year ^^.

Now join our Dec’ workshop and you shall learn a special book binding method to produce a 3-dimensional star book. While you can add photos on each page, you can also unfold the book to form a star-shaped ornament to add fun to your room! You can choose scrapbook papers you like and decorate the pages with the die-cut accessory sheet provided. So don’t miss it!!!

2012 is coming!!! Before we start thinking what to prepare for X’mas, why not take this time to work on a 2012 calendar for yourself or your beloved ones. Plan ahead your days and make a fruitful year of 2012! ^^

In this workshop, you shall experience the use of a handy binding tool - Zutter Bind-It-All and learn the basic book binding steps to make a desktop monthly calendar. You have your choice of scrapbook papers and decorate your pages with the use of various stamps, SLICE die-cutting machine and embossing heat gun! Don’t miss this!

§ Wedding Guest Book X Wedding Certificate Cover §

If you have joined our previous workshop of the simple album making, you might have seen this great piece of paper in our shop! Indeed, some students have also used this paper for her own album during the workshop.

I love this paper very much myself. The blossoms are big in size but if you are looking at the cover as a whole, they won't distract your attention at all. You feel their existence but they are very 'shy'. Just imagine you are being embraced by all these 'shy' big blossoms in a royal garden.

When I got to know that I needed to design a wedding guest book, this paper design came to my mind instantly. What makes the best is that the wedding guest book has to be in square shape this time. This is not the same as what we often do. I would say this piece of paper looks greatest in a square shaped booklet! It's really a perfect match. I am so happy to have this guest book done for the client.

Furthermore, she also requested for some designs on the inner pages. So I have made some birdie and word die-cuts by SLICE for the first and last four pages. For the two pages at center of the booklet, I made some special arrangement with decorative borders made by martha stewart punch. This makes the center part looks different from the other pages...and I thought it is good for her closest friends and relatives to get their signatures and messages here in this designated part of the guest book.

In designing the wedding certificate cover, I also used a solid colored cardstock to go with a tiffany blue scrapbook paper for the cover for my first time. I made the design very clean and neat with tiny details to give a focus on the cover.

I definitely love what I did this time... and sincerely hope that the couple will love both of them too. After all, congratulation and happy wedding. My best wishes.

Client is looking for something pink, purple and white. This time, I had been struggling for two days on the kinds of papers that should be used for this reception frame ^^!.

With some new sample papers received, I just couldn't stop myself to pick few of those papers for this new project. Cos I really love their mix of patterns and colors that represents a very classic and elegant style of finish.

Yet, I was not so sure if she would prefer a more pinkish or colorful design in comparison. This was my biggest worry at that time. After all, I decided to stick to my original design... a more creamy, classic and elegant one with some little pink and purple blossoms. And the most important of all, I also included a bird couple on the frame and used a slightly goldish paper for their name plate.

Very clean and neat design indeed! I love it.

I also struggled before if I should use a transparency for their name plate as I was thinking to show the background paper more on the design. But it seems to me that the solid goldish paper gives a better contrast and highlight to their names and wedding date. What do you think? =)

P.S. She sent me email later that evening to let me know her fiance loves the design as well. Really thankful for their appreciation and kindness to let me know how they think. I believe every designer would love to know if their design can be well received by the clients. Thank you.

My Scrap 2011

之前忙著的大多是別人的訂單.. 最近終於找到一點時間, 做一下自己喜歡的小玩意。很開心呢

最近, Tim Holtz 這個品牌好像在亞洲也流行起來。 由於他的產品和設計總是帶給人一種黑暗和粗豪的感覺, 我個人最初是有點抗拒的。不過, 最近機緣巧合下, 有了跟他的產品近距離接觸的機會。 因此, 也開始慢慢嘗試了解一下他的產品背後的設計理念。

今次的自家設計, 也嘗試利用Tim Holtz 的東西作為主要配件。不過, 我倒還是喜歡英倫vintage味或法國那種細緻小女孩的設計。 所以, 便動動腦筋, 嘗是將他的東西變得女性化一點吧。

就這樣我便做了一本個拉頁簿子和書盒套裝啊。最喜歡還是用上他的bookplate當作牆壁上的相框。由於不想用相片來做出太真實的感覺, 於是就反在一些碎布中找尋合適的圖案。 偶爾之下, 發現了這個很大size 的俄羅斯娃娃。 哈哈, 放進相框內, 好像一個老太太, 頭上帶有綠色玉石帽子那種... 很有趣呀 ...

另外, 用了他的 number plate, 再添上一層黑油, 頓成變作了鄉郊小屋外的一個郵箱。不過, 如果他的 number plate 可以小一點, 便可做一個較細小郵箱, 會比較好看。

拉頁簿子的開端用上了 Sizzix Big Shot machine, 在背景的紙張上做了embossed 壓花效果, 好像牆紙一般。 跟著, 用上Spellbinders 的 dies (刀模) 於Big Shot machine, 做出了一個很漂亮的 die-cut tag。 其實很喜歡Big Shot machine, 因為它可以配合其他牌子的 diecut-emboss dies, 而 Spellbinders dies 亦千變萬化，所以是很好的手作組合。

大家有沒有留意到那個小花束, 出現於頁面內, 亦出現於書盒面呢? 其實我是用了Tim Holtz 的小paper clips, 於是隨著不同的場景, 也可將小花束放在合適的地方配合。 是不錯的小玩意呢。

tailor-made boxed frame

There is always a story behind every tailor-made order.

I love learning about stories and share the impressive moments people have. This has always been the most interesting part in taking any tailor-made order for a client.

Looking at this boxed frame, you might know probably this is a gift from a group of people.

Correct!

Their boss is also in there as well. You know who is who ?

To express their special thanks to their boss as a team, they provided me all these little paper-figures. Each of them represents one of their team members. Without the need to reserve space for photos, I transformed the whole boxed-frame into a 'Amusement Park' for them. The roller-coaster, the ferris wheel and the castle... they just bring so much fun for everybody!

I hope, even after their special task has been done and the team was dismissed, this little boxed frame retains the good memories for every one of them ...and of course, their team leader (the boss)!

As what they wish to say to their boss, 'being with U... our gorgeous memories.'
